Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your situation and problem.
Your relative is having hemoptysis (coughing out blood). And with the past history of tuberculosis and damaged lung the possibility of
1. Recurrence of tuberculosis.
2. Infection other than tuberculosis in damaged lungs.
3. Damaged lungs itself can cause hemoptysis.
So better to consult pulmonologist and get done
1. CT thorax
2. Sputum examination for AFB.
CT gives more idea about lung infection than chest x ray.
If hemoptysis is more than hospitalization and cough suppressant are needed.
So better to consult pulmonologist and start treatment accordingly.
