What To Do When Ct Scan Shows Leftward Septal Deviation Along With Turbinate Hypertrophy, And Right Middle Turbinate Concha Bullosa?

I have been hoarse for most if the past 3months... I have been on 3 different antibiotics (zpack twice & augmentin)
2 weeks ago I saw a p.a at an ent office and despite my insistence the I don't have it she is treating me for GERD
I have had a CT scan which showed a leftward septal deviation along with turbinate hypertrophy, and right middle turbinate concha bullosa... With the results the p.a is still insisting I have GERD (which I am not having any symptoms of it, the only symptoms I have is not being able to breathe through my nose... When I use my neti pot I excrete bright red blood smears and green colored mucus... I am on my 2nd course of steroids (which I just notice the side effects no improvement... When I use the humidifier it makes my symptoms worse and I get the worst sinus headaches)
Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi, a finding of DNS with concha bullosa with no symptoms of sinusitis is not an indication of any intervention. You are having nasal obstruction and rhinorrhea and with these findings, an endoscopic sinus surgery and septoplasty should help in improving the symptoms of obstruction and rhinorrhea. For hoarseness, a post nasal drip because of sinusitis can be a reason for hoarseness and the problem should get solved if it is because of that. But an endoscopic examination of vocal cords should be done to look for a cause of hoarseness and it can be treated accordingly. Regards

hello!
dont worry!
from your ct scan , it is very obvious that the cause of your obstruction is the deviation or hypertrophy!
but this unlikely to cause your hoarseness!
many times GERD will be silent and the characteristic signs may not be seen, however since it is one of the common cause for hoarseness, it is advisable to start medicines for it, despite all the signs and symptoms being absent!
you should meet your ent doctor and ask him to do an endoscopy of your throat, to look for the cause for the hoarseness

steam inhalation is good for you, just keep the source of steam at a distance and take for a few minutes at a time, that will not aggravate your headache!
thanks!
