What To Do If Having Swelling In Ankles, Feet Which Has Affected Physically And Emotionally?
Hello! I have been having problems with swelling ankles and legs for years. Sometimes elevating my legs helps and sometimes it doesn't. I now have swelling on the top of my feet but more so on the top of my right foot. IT gets very swollen and is painful to the touch. This has been going on for about 6 months now. I always thought I just had poor circulation but the top of my feet swelling has been a concern. I have a small build, eat well and am moderately active. I am frustrated with all of the swelling and it has affected me physically and emotionally. Should I be concerned with all of this swelling?
There can be two causes of such swelling. First cause is high blood pressure. It leads to stress on heart and increase swelling in both feet. Second cause is kidney problem. So I would recommend you to get your bp checkup and urine check up. Avoid taking pain killers. Take lot of water but restrict salt intake in diet. Keep your feet elevated on pillow when lying down.
