You have taken Gemifloxaxin.It is an antibiotic.Antibiotics are needed when your symptoms are suggestive of a bacterial infection like High grade fever,Pus discharge in the cough,etc.. You may find relief by taking the following medication: Analgesic with Antiinflammatory like Ibuprofen, Antacid like Rantac, Oral decongestant like Phenylephrine and Nasal decongestant drops like Xylometazoline(take only if you are not suffering from hypertension), Cough expectorant like Ambroxol, Bronchodilator like Salbutamol. Continue with Montair-Fx. Also do warm saline gargles,steam inhalation,drink lots of warm fluids-All these measures help in breakage of thick mucus secretions.Avoid dust,smoke and other pollutants.Avoid cold,oily and very sweet food as they increase the mucus production.
