What To Do If Having Pregnancy Due Date On April 22nd And Doctor Says Excess Amniotic Fluid Now?

My daughter is pregnant and due on April 22. Doctor is now telling them there is excess amniotic fluid. They are freaking out. They were on line looking up reasons and are now worried about down syndrom. Is this true? My email is YYYY@YYYY . Is there something to be worried about? Baby is close to 10 lbs.

Thanks for writing to us.
An increase in the amniotic fluid is worrisome only if it is interfering with the fetal growth. A mild rise in liquor volume is not worrisome. Just take adequate rest to avoid a premature labor pains.
