General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The burning sensation may be related to esophagitis (inflammation of esophagus) and gastritis (inflammation of the stomach).

Alcohol can be associated with these complications.

The use of medications normally used in GERD may help. This would include medications such as prevacid, protonix, aciphex, nexium, prilosec.
You may be able to obtain one of these over the counter.

In addition you should avoid spicy/fatty/fried/acidic foods.

I hope this helps
