What To Do For The Huge Lump On The Chin That Appeared After The Cut Was Stitched And Healed?

I got hit in the chin extremely hard and needed to get 8 stitches in order to heal(3 on the inside and 5 on the outside). Everything healed great with the cut but now i have a huge lump on my chin and it is very hard. Why is this? Can it be taken away?

Thanks for the query.
Probably you have developed an abscess or a keloid.
Both present initially as hard lump.
Abscess are deep bacterial infections.
In simple terms bacteria infect our body and destroys tissue.
This destroyed tissue forms pus and a collection of pus anywhere in body is called as abscess.
Treatment is with antibiotics but the choice of antibiotics should be based on culture and sensitivity tests.
Abscess must be drained and pus should be subjected to tests to find out which bacteria is causing it and to which antibiotic the bacteria is sensitive.
Keloids are just collection of fibrous tissue.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
