What To Do For The Dry Patches On The Face?

I have some very dry patches on my face around hairline and on my nose. Been using a gentle cleanser instead of soap. Used variety of moisturizers and creams but still have majorly dry patches. I m 51 years old and I work outdoors and I do wear sunscreen.

Hello,

Dry patches on the scalp can be caused by several conditions but very typical is psoriasis.

You might need to have some salicylic acid solutions to wet your head and do washes in the morning with a tar shampoo to help the scales fall and also you can have some locally prepared in the pharmacy with steroids to use daily.

Generally, these are sufficient for most patients. Rarely they need more aggressive treatment with oral tablets as well.

It is well you are keeping your skin moisturized and protecting it from soaps. Continue to do so, use the moisturizers at least twice a day at the area.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
