What To Do For Fever Blister On The Outside Of The Nose ?

I am a 68 yr old woman in excellent health but I have formed what appears to be a fever blister on the out side of my nose and I am not sure what I should do? I have been putting fever blister medication on it but that is not helping and it seems to be getting larger. Can you help?

Hello,
Thank you for posting on HCM.
The condition you described is difficult to diagnose without proper clinical examination. From your description, i would suggest the diagnosis of Herpes labialis.
Its a common viral infection associated with fever followed by blisters in and around mouth. It is notorious for being recurrent but nothing serious.
As of now consult your nearby dermatologist who would prescribe you oral antiviral drugs( Acyclovir/valacyclovir) and creams for local application
( Antibiotics with or without acyclovir cream).A few days on the meds will resolve your condition.
Hope this will solve your all queries and wish you best of health.
Thank you
