What specialist should my son see for a proper diagnosis of his problem? He has had brittle T1D for 58 years & has numerous other physical issues, but the current most distressing is what has been diagnosed as IBS/D. He can only eat baked chicken or turkey, baked white potato, applesauce, cooked carrots & crackers. He drinks only cold or hot tea, and even these few items will often create gas, bloating, much pain in the abdominal area, & diarrhea. He is very worn out trying to manage the diabetes (he takes 4 insulin shots daily), deal with a hip disease (Since age 12), carpal tunnel syndrome, etc. etc. AND he must work every day! Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated! (Oh yes- this week he has a routine 4 month appointment with his cancer surgeon at Johns Hopkins to keep check that the tongue cancer has not recurred again! And he never smoke or drank!) HELP!
