What Reading Of Blood Sugar Is Considered As Diabetes?
hello everyone very good morning It a honor for to see doctors who are waiting here for answer the question of people around the world. my question is that how we can determine whether we are effected by diabetic or not? could you please mention the level of sugar which considered as diabetic ? thank you
I can understand your concern and would try to help you in the best possible way. A diagnosis of diabetes is made by a combination of medical symptoms and laboratory demonstrated raised sugar levels.
Symptoms that are consistant with diabetes are:
1. Too much thirst 2. Too much hunger 3. Too much urination, particularly at night 4. Craving for sweet things 5. Weight Loss 6. Prolonged fatigue and lethargy 7. Delayed wound Healing
If you are having such symptoms your doctor would screen you for diabetes with some blood tests. Following values are indicative of diabetes:
1. Fasting blood Sugars greater than 126 mg/dl 2. Random Blood sugars greated than 200 mg/dl 3. HbA1C levels greater than 6.5%
These tests have to be reapeated two times at different visits and both values should be raised for a diagnosis of diabetes.
Sometimes in patients with borderline raised sugars or pregnant ladies may be subjected to another test called Oral Glucose Tolerance test to diagnose diabetes.
