What Methods For Pregnancy Are Suggested In Females With Irregular Periods?

hi doctor, im 30 yr old and married since three months. im on yamini and bigomet sr500mg since 5 years coz of irregular oeriod due to pcod. im scared to get off contraceptive pills coz my period wil be irregular again. i want to conceive now. what should i do? my weight is 60kg.

Hello dear,,I understand your concern..In my opinion you can take ovulation induced drugs like clomiphene ,with or without intra uterine insemination(IUI).This can be tried for 3 to 6 cycles.Last resort is artificial reproductive techniques(ART).But before this the cause for irregular cycles like thyroid abnormalities or polycystic ovarian disease(PCOD) is to be evaluated.So consult gynaecologist for furthur course of action.Leave aside anxiety because anxiety is one of the causes for infertility.You have to quit ocp to get pregnant and after stopping it will take few months for normal ovulation to occur.
