Hi,
First confirm if you are pregnant. There are several reasons for delayed period.
Before starting the abortion treatment it is important to have examination by doctor to make sure that the pregnancy is in the uterus and you do not have contraindications for the medications.

There are two types of medicines ( anti progesterone and prostaglandin) used for abortion which your doctor will prescribe. Medical abortion is about 95% effective. Most women ( 80%) abort within 24 hours of taking the second pill. Some take little longer. After aborting the pregnancy you may have light bleeding for two weeks. Get an ultrasound done after two weeks to make sure that the abortion process is complete
I hope this is helpful.
