What Medical Condition Causes Pain And Swelling In The Knee And Pain In The Legs And Hip?

Back of knee hurts, swell and legs hurt. This happens after being on feet for several hours then continues to worsen to the point I have to sit. I ve gone to orthopedic Dr, one said I have arthritis and second opinion says no sign of arthritis at all, and is sending me to neuro dr. I also have pain in hips.

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Hello,

As the pain is radiating in nature I suspect it to be nerve impingement in the lumbar Spinal level. Having an MRI of the lumbar spine should help reveal more about the soft tissue.

Once done using a lumbar spine brace and doing exercises for the core, spinal muscles and lower limb whole Strengthening will help ease the symptoms.

In my clinical practice of 12 years, most patients have been better with conservative therapy after the clinical examination and required rehabilitation plan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
