Noticed after my hysterectomy at age 44, that my skin began to bruise at the slightest contact with objects and developed brown spots. I was told that my thin skin contributed to the problem and there was nothing to do. I could understand the reasoning if I was older but could the hysterectomy (hormone lose) be the culprit? Any test that could get to the bottom of the ugly skin (lower legs and lower arms/hands)? Thanks
It may be senile purpura. It is not due to hysterectomy. It may be due to increased fragility of capillaries wall caused by aging process.
Kindly consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. If your doctor wishes for further investigation, follow him.
High doses of vitamin C 1000 mg thrice a day with vitamin K might improve the condition.
Apply thrombophob oint on the patches.
Avoid even trivial injuries.
I hope this would help.
Thanks.
