What Leads To Breathlessness After Taking Sandoz-clarithromycin For Sinus Infection?

Hey doctor, so yesterday I got medication called Sandoz-clairithromcycin for my sinus infection and it woke me up in the middle of the night because I have a horrible breath but it doesn t smell it s just really acid and bitter and foamy, I m just wondering if it s because of the medication or something else ? Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that due to intake of antibiotics that is Clarithromycin there has been acid reflux secondary to hyperacidity which is a relatively common side effect of taking antibiotics and the acid, bitter taste and foamy consistency is due to acid..
Nothing to worry as the symptoms mostly resolve when the antibiotic intake is stopped..

As of now you can take antacids like Milk of magnesia half an hour before meals to prevent acidity.
Take Proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole or Omeprazole once in morning empty stomach and once at night..
Avoid spicy and acidic meals..
Take small meals every 2 to 3 hours and avoid spicy and heavy meals..
Drink plenty of water..
Take short walk after meals..

Sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet..

If there is no improvement consult your physician and get your antibiotic changed with other antibiotics..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
