Hello, My newborn, 5 weeks, has a bulging out his navel and have taken him to Dr and he is on amoxil drops 3 times a day and betadine cream on the area twice a day. Is this an infection? What are the risks? Should I see a specialist? He also has quite a bit of yellowy discharge that continues to leak too. Be glad of your help.
My bellybutton was hurting this week nothing too terrible so i didnt bother going to the doctor but today i noticed i had some liquid on my tshirt and that my bellybutton was leaking a small amount of brownish red liquid. The pain seems to have ceased since this though. Do you know what this may be?
Sitting on the couch I noticed my belly button began to itch slightly. I inspected after a long day at work and saw some wax like substance circling the outer edge of the belly button. I took a q-tip and removed it, which stunk horribly, then used some running alcohol to clean the area. Thinking that was it I noticed the belly button was now slightly red and had a yellow fluid substance draining from it. Now it s uncomfortable and slowly draining.
