What Is The Treatment Of Loose Stools In Children ?

My four and a half year old has had loose stools for 3 days and last night began having very bad gas that smells like sulfur, accompanied by a slight fever of 101.1. I did not give her Motrin and the fever went away. Loose stools and gas still present today.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
As it is accompanied by fever and bad odor is infective diarrhea.
Sporolac one sachet daily will help reducing diarrhea.
Most of the infective diarrhoeas are self limited and don't need antibiotics.
Only plenty of fluids including ORS solution and normal diet specially curd rice or rice with butter milk.
Avoid spices ans chillies.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
