What Is The Treatment For Hirsutism And Acne?

Hi Doc, I am a 26 year old female. I have been suffering from hirsutism and acne since the past 4 years. I did tests for pcos/pcod but was not detected with either. Although I have been detected with fibroids. My doc recommended deriva cms for acne but it has only worsened. Please advise what treatment can I take for the acne and hirsutism. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
If your hormonal profiles have been done and no abnormality has been detected, you may go for symptomatic therapy and also cosmetic therapy. If the fibroids are big enough, multiple and are growing, they need appropriate treatment, be it medical or surgical. You may also need hormone therapy for prevention. Hirsutism may be treated by drugs and also by cosmetic procedures like laser, temporary methods like waxing, threading etc. Please see a dermatologist for proper management; also, avoid stress, oily and carbohydrate-rich diet. Hope this helps.
