What Is The Treatment For Facial Swelling?

Hello! I have a random swelling on my face. It is in a line on my lower left cheek near my mouth. I have not eaten any thing strange or new. I did recently purchase new make up, but I tested it on the inside of my elbow and there was not a reaction. Any idea what may have cause this or better yet, any idea of how to make the swelling go down??

Hi and welcome to HCM
From your description of the swelling, there a few possibilities. Firstly an allergy- to food, cosmetics, any new medicines, insect bite.
Since you have not noticed a reaction to any food we may rule that out. As for cosmetics, it is possible that your facial skin may react more. In case you have a reaction to the same cosmetics again, fully avoid it.
Since it is in a line, its most probably an insect bite which you may have subconsciously rubbed off when you felt it biting, leaving a line of swelling.
In any case, apply a calamine lotion over the swelling. If the swelling is severe and itchy you can apply a light layer of desonide cream for 3 days.
Along with this, Take an antihistamine such as Levocet 5mg once daily.
Hope this helps. If the swelling persists or continues to spread, see a doctor immediately.
