What Is The Treatment For Diarrhea And Cold?

Hi, my baby is 8 months and 2 weeks old. Monday she had creme fromais for the first time, which I believe is made with cow's milk. The following day she had diarrhoe 2/3 times early in the morning. However the rest of the day went well although she seems to develop a recurrent cold. Today I tried to give her her usual milk at 6 am and she vomited after the first mouthfull. I left it there & tried again at 8 am. She had less than other days but after a few minutes she vomited until the very last drop of milk she had. Is it got to do with the introduction of cow's milk? Cold? Or the pasta (carbohydrates) she had yeasterday? Or else?

Hello,

To me, the given symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting could be due to viral infection, so you will have to be alert for some days just because of the dehydration, vomiting and fever.

Else the condition is self-limiting, may not need any specific treatment unless it is the severe condition.

If the symptoms persist for days, then it could be food allergic condition or bacterial infection, then it may need clinical studies and further work up.

You need to keep your eye open for any severe condition if ever happens, taking any chance in pediatric cases is risky, so it is better to see the pediatrician for safe side, take a good care of baby.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
