What Is The Treatment For Depression?

My sister is 45 years of age. She suffered from depression since was 25 yrs old. For the same reason she could not be married successfully. Now her behaviour for some time remains normal, but most of the time during day and also at night keeps on talking loudly in an angry tone non -stop on some subject of past happening and does not listen to our asking to stop talking . She was under medication for a few years initially for a long time but abruptly stops taking any medicine for the last 4 or 5 years. Her condition is detriorating day by day and we the family members are totally disturbed. Please guide us how to proceed and are there any good hospital/ psychiatrist in Dehra Dun as we want to help her recuperate. Now she does not take any medicine despite our best of efforts as she does not heed to what we say. Please help.

HI
Thanks for using healthcare magic

I think, she has bipolar disorder and in that case, she needs mood stabilizer as well as antipsychotic drugs. These drugs would help to control her mood swings. In case, she does not want to take medicine, you can either think about in patient facilities in a hospital. You can try any in patient facility near by your home. If you need further help, you can ask.

Thanks
