Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your son's situation and problem.
In my opinion, you should consult pulmonologist for him and get done
1. Clinical examination of respiratory system.
2. Chest x ray
3. Sputum culture and sensitivity.
Chest x ray needed for the diagnosis of lung Infection.
Since he is not improving with penicillin, better to start antibiotic according to culture and sensitivity report.
Sputum culture will isolate the causative organism and sensitivity report will guide about the effective antibiotic therapy.
So by this, we can avoid haphazard use of antibiotics. As haphazard use of antibiotics can cause delayed recovery and increase chances of drug resistance.
So better to consult pulmonologist and start appropriate antibiotic treatment.
