What Is The Treatment For HBs-Ag And HBC-AB During Pregnancy?

My liver test is HBs-Ag Positive and HBC-AB also Positive. What can I do if I am in pregnancy? Can I vaccinate for the baby? How many shots I should ask doctor to give for the baby and when? Can I have natural birth giving (labor) or I do need operation at labor to get the baby out. Please help me! Thanks a lot!

Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.Positive HbsAg status in pregnancy does not effect the fetus until the HBE antigen is positive. Yes, you can have a normal vaginal delivery. However, post delivery the baby should receive HBIG immunoglobulin along with the Hepatitis B vaccination at 0, 1 and 6 months of age.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
