What Is The Tender Red Bump On Butt Crack Where The Tail Bone Ends?

I woke up 2 days ago with a red bump, tender to push on, at the top right side of my butt crack,like where my tailbone ends.if I push down on it and push toward the center of my butt crack ,it is very painful.i do have anal sex occasionally but its been a while.what could this be

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that a painful red lump on the butt crack right where tailbone ends seems to be most probably due to formation of Pilonidal cyst or Pilonidal Abscess and it can occur due to causes like traumatic injury to tailbone area, ingrown hairs, infection in the area etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Proctologist or a General Surgeon and get evaluated and a clinical examination is generally sufficient and if required x ray can also be advised..

In case of Pilonidal abscess you can be advised a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and cool compresses over the area..
You can also be advised Incision and Drainage in case of abscess and Marsupialization or Enucleation in case of Cyst..
