6 months ago I started to feel some kind of a round hump on my throat (specifically all the way back on my tongue, it doesn't hurt or anything, but it does bother me some times because it feels weird. do you think it something serious or not some much.
Lumps seen in the oral cavity can be of various types . They can be infective lesions related to some kind of infection to the tongue mucosa or lumps are also formed due to bening or malignant swellings of the tongue. cysts or the abscess cavity also form lumps.
exact diagnosis can be made only after clinical examination and evaluation by taking pathological tests.
i would suggest you to consult an oral and maxillofacial surgeon and get the examination done get which will help in diagnosis and accordingly treatment can be planned .
Although it does not look serious since you are having the bump since six months, but still would like you to get it checked because a bump on the back of the tongue is not normal and needs to be evaluated! Thanks
