What Is The Right Level Of TSH To Be Maintained?

Gd afternoon Sir, Myself Depali Dey age-34, for my irregular mensturation, my physician advised me to taste my tsh level, and my TSH level is 8.36 on 14/12/2016 . I want to know what should be the right dose for my TSH level, and how many days should I continue ?

Hi,

Checking the thyroid hormone is one of tests that is regularly done in persons with irregular period. The normal TSH range can vary slightly from one lab to the next but in general may be 0.4 to 4.2. Your lab form may state the normal range for your lab form.Your value of 8.36 is higher than normal.

This would mean that you have a condition called hypothyroidism. TSH is released from a part of the brain and goes down to work on the thyroid gland in the neck. It causes the thyroid gland to release the thyroid hormone. High TSH from the brain usually means that there is a low level of thyroid hormone from the thyroid gland.
