Hi
Thanks for query to HCM.
You are 84 years old and having vertigo , since long time , sorry for this .
Meclizine is a potent and less sedative drug prescribed for elderly patient .
However normal dose is 25-50 mg once in day but the dosage depending on so many factors , e.g. like intensity of vertigo , duration etc.
So this thing is very well known to your treating doctor because he is final authority .
So 3 times in day is not excessive dose , but if you are feeling any side effect , then discuss with your doctor and he may adjust dose accordingly.
Hope this information will be helpful for you.
Further , if any question I will reply happily.
Good luck.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Meclizine is an antihistamine medication. It is used to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, and dizziness caused by motion sickness.
It is also used to treat symptoms of vertigo caused by disease that affects the inner ear.
Usual Adult Dose for Vertigo is 25 to 100 mg orally per day in divided doses. Dosing dependent upon clinical response.
Hence, taking this medication with strength of 25 mg 3 times a day is not excessive.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
