What Is The Remedy For The Vomiting And Diarrhea After Food Poisoning?

My daughter is 4 year old.on Friday she took veg pizza and in the night she started vomiting. She had 3/4 vomitings , which stopped by them self. She had slight fever and we took her to doctor and she pricribes Emerset syrup to use it if motions star. For last one hour she had two motions and there us no blood but motion was loose do we start to use emerset..

Hi,

I noted the history about your 4 year old daughter having veg pizza and started vomiting and was advised Emerset, to be taken if loose stools start which she has started with, and you want to know whether to start this. Emeset Syrup contains Ondansetron as an active ingredient. Emeset Syrup works on small intestine and brain that controls vomiting or nausea and not for loose motions as it might have been misunderstood. If the stools are loose, send then for lab and get started on an antibiotic to guard against intestinal infection. Also needed may be rehydration and electrolyte imbalance. If required get her admitted as babies can go into dehydration faster than thought.
