What Is The Remedy For Coughing After Swallowing Liquid Medicine?

My 2 year and 4months daughter swallowed her liquid medicine (1ml) wrong and got a little choked up. She has been coughing ever since. She is asleep now and still coughing. Is there any chance it is in her lungs. Should I be worried about silent drowning? RL

thanks for your question. well certainly she isnot drowned. but microaspirations are likey.
keep her on rightsided sleeping position. give her cough medicine like dextromethorphan slowly in sitting position.
watch for breathing movements. if they are fast or she is unable to lie down then visit your doctor to rule out aspiration as she may require antibiotics.
