What Is The Recovery Time After Undergoing Total Laparoscopic Vaginal Hysterectomy?

Good Evening, I had my TLVH on 2/5/14 and I m now 6 weeks post op. I m feeling pretty great! I am still spotting a tiny bit - want to make sure that is normal. Also - My Surgeon saw me 1 week after my procedure and it was just to talk and go over how I felt. I don t see her now until November for my annual check-up. Is this normal? She does not have to do an Internal Exam to say all is well? I m not even sure when I can resume sexual activity - I think 8-10 weeks? Can I douche just once when this spotting is all done? I just want to feel clean again ....

Hi,

If spots, you need to discuss it with your dr. If no spotting SEXUAL activity can be resumed after 6 to 8 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
