It has been stayuing around 170 over 80, What BP levels should I consider high enough to see a Dr?
Hello welcome to HCM.. First of all let me informed you the normal blood pressure range is 120/80mmhg at rest.. And the levels up to 139/85mmhg is considered high normal. So the blood pressure you are mentioned is high compared to normal levels. So my advice to you is - 1.you should definitely consult a physician or cardiologist about your blood pressure. 2 . following investigations are necessary for u. - 24 hrs blood pressure monitoring - 2d echocardiography, to rule out any damage to heart caused by high blood pressure. - start daily brisk walking for 40 minutes. Eat more fruits and vegetables and avoid oily and salty foods. - don't worry once blood pressure is controlled u will have your normal life. - Eating sugar will not cause sudden rise in blood pressure, so don't think about it.
