What Is The Life Expectancy Of A Patient Suffering From Pulmonary Fibrosis?

B-I-L diagnosed with interstitial lung disease almost 2 yrs ago. Admitted to hospital yesterday with pneumonia. Dx is now interstitial pulmonary fibrosis. What are his chances of living out the year? If so can you give an estimate on life expectancy?

It is hard to say but this is very progressive disease with poor prognosis. If pneumonia is associated then it may be fatal for him. If he recovers then survival rate is from few months till year.
