What Is The Life Expectancy Of CLL Patient?
Sir, I am 36 yesrs old serving soldier in Indian Air Force. My height is 158 cm. Since last year Mar TLC in my blood has been between 20 to 30 thousand and Lymphocites are between 70 to 80. Religare Lab at Delhi declared diagnosed it CLL. Doctors are opined that not to give any treatment at this stage, but I am in mental agony that if the treatment is not given at beginning then what will happen of my life. I have small kids. please guide me on this issue and instruct me about what are the cares I must take and howmany years I may live my life approximately

CLL is the chronic lymphocytic leukemia. No any treatment is given in initial phase. So you are going on right way. You should regularly monitor your wbc count hemoglobin and platelets. Later on chemotherapy is given. Life expectancy is very good as compare to other leukemia.

it is a chronic disorder.You don't have to receive any treatment unless you are having any type of symptom. Many a times you will lead a completely normal life and it is a co-incidental finding.A count of 20 to 30000 is a moderate increase and you should not worry about it.

Stage 0: no treatment, median survival> 10 yr.
Stage I and II: close follow up, chemotherapy may be instituted. Survival more thsn 7 yr.
