General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I can understand your concern regarding the dose of Tamsulosin. Tamsulosin is an alpha-1 adrenergic blocker commonly prescribed to improve urination in men with benign prostatic enlargement. Its initial dose is 0.4 mg orally once a day preferably at bed time. If there's no response to the initial dose after 2 to 4 weeks, the dose may be increased to 0.8 mg orally once a day at the same time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
