What Is The Dosage Of Calcirol For Severe Back Pain?
Hi, I m having severe back & leg pain with burning sensation in leg & leg is getting folded on it s own from my knee all of a sudden. I m having difficulty in walking since Feb. I have two disc bulges in spine L4-L5 & L7-L8. I m also severely Vit D3 defficient. My doc has asked me to take Calcirol sachets. What should be the correct dose for me?
You have a history of vitamin D3 deficiency. You have mentioned nothing about your age or weight.
Since you are having severe backache, difficulty in walking & legs are getting folded at the knees, you need to get physically examined & get investigations done to rule out osteoarthritis/ RA, herniated disc, etc.
Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected. Yes, you need Calcirol & the accurate dose that you need will depend upon your condition, age & weight.
For severe back pain, you may need medications, traction, physical or electro therapy or surgery. You can take Analgesics or NSAIDS to get rid of the pain.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
