Hi, my son is an advid swimmer and spends about 3 hrs in the pool a day. He has been swimming since he was 9 yrs. old. He is now 16 and a junior in HS, swimming for the HS team as well as the local YMCA. We were told that he may develop "soft bones" later in life due to swimming. What is the correlation between swimming and osteomalacia and should we be doing something for him now?
