What Is The Condition Of Occurrence Of Periods Even After Ablation?
Hello, I am 47.5 years old. I had an ablation about 2 or 3 years ago. My periods never went away. They did get a little lighter but still always there and average at a 26 day cycle lately. I am currently 13 days late. Should I get a pregnancy test or hope that my periods are finally gone. Thanks in advance Veronica
It could take sometime for your periods to completely stop, altough in some it stops almost immediately. I do think that this is the end of your periods, but as protocol a doctors examination will be mandatory, and if he/she feels it necessary, a pregnancy test may also be comducted.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Ramprabhu's Response
Thanks for query.endometrial ablation generally decreases menstrual bleeding, a small percentage of patients will experience no change. The reason for your delayed periods may be either u entered menopause as your age suggests or its possible(rare) that u might got conceived if you had unprotected sex.check with urine pregnancy test.anyways thank your doctor as you menorrhagia got away.
