Hi, Welcome to Healthcare Magic Forum.
It depends on the 1.)type of stroke, whether it is Hemorrhagic or Ischemic, 2.) area of the brain affected, 3.) Duration between the attack and treatment initiated, 4.)Number of previous strokes. If death does not occur, Most people go home within days after getting discharged from a Hospital and depending upon the extent of brain damage, it may take a year to 10 years for complete recovery. The patient will require, speech and physical therapy.
