My dad (60 years old) is still feeling unsteady while waking up in the morning. We consulted a doctor here and found that his BP went real down. Doctor reduced his BP medications and now since 2 weeks his BP is normal and heart rate is good too. Entire day he is perfect with all his daily activities he is perfectly fine. But he is still feeling unsteady when waking up. It is definitely better that the first day he was feeling unsteady(3 weeks ago) but not 100% gone. Can someone please help us understand what is happening to him.
Hello These are autonomic features. These are common in elderly, especially in diabetics. I have following suggestions- 1.check sodium and sugars if not done so already. 2.ask him to wriggle his toes before rising, and to get up slowly.. 3.holter test may be planned. I am sure these measures will help. Let us know the test reports for further suggestions. Best of luck, Dr Mittal
