What Is The Cause Of Facial Flushing And Itching Around Nose?

I live in Oklahoma and the fall pollen levels are now off the charts. Ive never been bothered by allergies before, but for the last week have been experiencing facial flushing and some itching around my nose along with a runny noise in the mornings. These symptoms come and go and seem to get worse at night. Im a 69 year old male in otherwise great health. Take no meds

Hi, thanks for healthcare magic

It is possible to have an allergic reaction to any agent- environmental (pollen, dust, animal dander), food, drink, medications.

It is possible that you may be allergic to any of these. To determine the likely cause of your reaction, you may want to consider allergy testing so that you can accurately determine the source of your reaction.

If this done then you can eliminate or reduce your exposure to this particular antigen.

The use of oral antihistamines and decongestants (either oral or topical) would help with your symptoms.

I hope this helps
