What Is The Cause For Feeling Chest Hurt And Tighten?

My daughter is 16 years old and went to the pediatric doc because she was feeling her chest hurt and tighten. The doctor gave her an inhaler and took an EKG saying that it is something to do with her mucuous plug. Can you tell me how serious this is?

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your daughter's situation and problem.
Possibility of bronchitis is more in her case because of doctor's description regarding mucus plug.
No need to worry for heart diseases.
Bronchitis is due to infection. It causes inflammatory reaction in airways and so mucus plugging occur.
It is easily treated by antibiotics, mucolytic and expectorant drugs. All these are needed to remove mucus plugging.
Inhalers are also needed to control inflammation.
So discuss about these drugs with your doctor because this will fasten the recovery.
Don't worry, she will be alright. No need to worry for bronchitis as it is easily treatable.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
