What Is The Cause And Treatment For Post Nasal Drip?

For the past two and a half days I have had a tickle in my throat which feels as if I have phlegm that is never ending in my throat. I have also been extremely fatigued and have chronic headaches. This morning in the shower I tried to spit up what was in my throat like I had been doing for the past few days, and I threw up a little after gagging to get it out. It was a mixture of milky green and clear/white. Then I went to work and was zoneing out nearly the entire night. My head was pounding and I couldn t help but stop spitting to try an get the phlegm out of my throat. When I finally got home at about 10, I went into the shower right away. I tried hocking it up again, but this time I threw up even more. And this was a mixture of orange and white. The orange was liquid, but the white was solid and a weird texture from what I saw. I have had a tonsil stone before, so I know it s not the same thing. Does anyone know what s wrong with me?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain tickley or irritated throat along with excessive mucous can be due to a few conditions like throat infection, post nasal drip due to sinus infection or common cold, throat irritation and mucous can also be due to acid reflux..
In your case it seems to be most probably due to viral throat infection and the orangish phlegm can be due to traces of blood in the spit which can occur due to continuous coughing causing slight bleeding from throat causing traces of blood in sputum..

You should consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and treatment can be planned according to the cause..
Infection in throat can be cured by antibiotics, warm saline gargles and avoiding spicy and chilled foods.
While acid reflux can be cured by antacids and dietary modifications..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
