Hi - I am a senior - in pretty good health, only take a low dose blood pressure pill, but last year started having some muscle spasms and now my knees hurt when I bend or climb stairs. No problem walking, Some stiffness in morning. Did have an arthoscopic miniscus repair, but still having some painful stair climbing issues. Do I need a knee repair or maybe just meds like enbrel or something?
Hi, From history it seems that there might be having degenerative changes in your knee joint producing this problem. Go for x-ray or CT scan of the joint to know how much degenerative changes are there. After knowing the extent of damage repair or knee replacement surgery is needed. Consult ortopedic surgeon and get examined. Meanwhile go for Patellar exercises daily and regularly. This will give good amount of relief. Ok and take care.
