What Is The Cause And Treatment For Dizziness?

Dr. Rynne, I was having dizziness from time to time, more in the evening. On Friday, 12 December 2014, my family doctor checked my ears and all was fine. I also had a blood test for different things that same day. I am waiting for the results. Now I am experiencing ongoing dizziness whether sitting, standing or walking. Do you have any other medical advice? I am 63 years of age. Thank you and have a Merry Christmas! Janet

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Read and understood the history.
Male/63 - experiencing ongoing dizziness whether sitting, standing or walking- family Doctor says ears are fine- blood reports waited for.

I would advise you the following:
-Continue the medicines like cinnarizine or whichever your Family Doctor must have prescribed you.
-If not effective get an appointment for a Neurologist and get ready for further tests of MRI of the brain and the balance apparatus,
-Till then take strict bed rest.
- Take plenty of oral fluids.
-If you have associate medical disorders like diabetes or hypertension, they should be in a well control.
