What Is The Prognosis And Treatment For The Swelling Of Head During Birth?
My grandson was born yesterday morning with a swollen head. The swelling has reduced on it s own by 1 cm after 4 hours since then no reduction in swelling. My grandson is refusing to feed and showing no interest in feeding. What is the most likely prognosis and treatment if any that could be initiated. The baby is at a local hospital with limited specialist support.

Swelling at birth is due to pressure of the head at the outlet and water accumulation and hence should not be of much worry. what is worrisome is the refusal to feed I would suggest u to contact your paediatrician or neonatologist immediately
