What Is Sharp Pain In Hip With Deep Chest Cough During Pregnancy Suggestive Of?

37 weeks pregnant and I ve had this very deep chest cough for around a week. Green mucus was present but seems to be gone for now anyways. Baby is pushing down hard and I m having slight contractions but every time I cough I get a sharp pain in my left side by my hip. It s almost unbearable for like a second then its gone bug it s with every cough. I don t know that I ll be able to tell that my water broke cause I keep peeing when I cough. Saw my Dr today and I hadn t gotten this sharp pain till tonight what could it be? Should I be concerned?

Hello,
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respriatory tract infection.
I suggest using Acetominophen as an anti inflammatory medication.
I also suggest usign a mucolytic to treat the cough.
If the symptoms continue, you should take a cycle of antibiotics.
Amoxicillin is used in pregnant women and is considered a safe medication.
