What Is Redness Around The Glans Penis Suggestive Of?
Hi,I m a 55 yr old male and i have red splotches around rim of penis head,a few below on upper shaft but scattered not concentrated in a local area. They get from a pale pinkish color to an angry redish color if i masturbate.There s no pain associated,and affected areas are level with skin,not above skin as a mole or acne would represent itself.I ve looked this up before,looked at online pics but what i see are more serious conditions than mine.I m guessing my condition could be a fungus or tinneaversicolor or an epidermal/dermal condition which reacts with heat cause by blood flow into my penis.Any ideas? These symptoms and signs are suggestive of STD especially if there is associated pain, fever, urethral discharge and recent sexual intercourse. So this is the first thing to rule out by doing STD testing. Second, it may be sign of uroinfection or urinary stones and some other genital infection but this is less common. In every case, antibiotic therapy may be required so test should be done as soon as possible so that appropriate treatment can be started. Till that try to drink plenty of fluids, avoid sexual intercourse and rest.
