What Is My Liver Function Test Result Suggestive Of?

Hi, I am 45 year old and regular drinker with 360 ml of Vodka everyday and recently got the liver function test in which My GGT Level are in the range of 899, but my SGOT-37 & SGPT-25 and are in the normal range, i am very worried please suggest and since the report i have decided to abstain from alcohol totally, will my GGT level be normal again, Regards KV

Thank you for your question
Alcohol intake cause acute liver damage by fatty changes.
This causes the liver enzymes to be raised especially GGT
stoping the alcohol will normalize the enzymes
The rest of the liver enzymes are normal in most of cases but may be abnormal if there is more damage to the liver.
Follow the liver tests and see how it will be in the next one week if still raised without taking alcohol. then need to see doctor for further tests.
