What Is My X Ray Report Post Treatment For TB Suggestive Of?

Hi my father previously has tuberculosis but was treated. His sputum AFB smear and sputum MTB culture are negative and X-ray results are left apical pleural thickening and minimal infiltrates, left upper lung field, appears slightly increased from 10 September 2015 to 6 January 2016. He is coughing now. What could be wrong with him?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your father's x-ray report post TB treatment that showed left apical thickening and mild infiltrate with slightly raised left lung field I am suggesting he has developed the following complications

Pneumonia
Pleural effusion
Pulmonary fibrosis

In view of this let him take broad spectrum antibiotics such as injection ceftriaxone or rocephin and be reviewed by his physician

I hope this helps Regards

I find this answer helpful
